Some exciting things are happening that I can’t wait to elaborate on!
"Gotta Have my Pops!"
This biography of Louis Armstrong is my new book of choice.
You wouldn’t believe how completely insane his life was. And considering, he deserves quite a bit of respect as both a person and a musician.
Second City
I’m officially signed up for my first class at Second City! I’m pretty excited, though it’s kinda weird that there is a school dedicated to this sort of stuff. I mean, is there really a difference between Comedy Writing A, and Advanced Comedy Writing?
Sounds like a scam to me. But I’ll work my hardest to do good
Yesterday was a good day. I got some writing done, and went to an improv jam session at Second City. It was my first time doing improv and it was pretty fun!
Afterwords we went across the street to the Old Town Ale House , I don’t think I’ve ever been so in love with a place.
Being in Chicago is starting to feel normal now.
Costanza
On Super Bowl Sunday my roommate, Ehsan, invited his Iranian friends over to watch.
It was really fun! And what I learned is that all Iranians look like the cast of Seinfeld.
And that these too look especially like George Castanza:
Ehsan is on one on the left.
They were all really cool. I never thought I could joke around and play games with so many Ph.D’s!
A few days before that, Ian...
Open Mic's
Today was alright. I did my first open mic, and stumbled through a bunch of jokes that haven’t said in a while.
Then headed over to Ians and ended up watching the new Louis C.K. special. It is hilarious!
I really want to be able to capture the awkwardness of open mics on film.
We Made It!
And, I may be doing my first open mic tonight!
